Dr. Aras Tijunelis was born and raised in the northern suburbs of Chicago. He is a Board Certified General and Plastic Reconstructive Surgeon.
He is a cum laude graduate of Loyola University of Chicago and received his medical degree at Loyola’s Stritch School of Medicine. He completed five years of general surgery residency at Wayne State University/Detroit Medical Center in 1998. He subsequently became board certified in General Surgery and worked as a Medivac Surgeon and Trauma Surgeon at Advocate Lutheran General - Level I trauma center.
In 2000, Dr. Tijunelis completed his Cosmetic, Reconstructive, Hand and Microsurgery residency at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics-Madison. As part of his training, he studied at the Chicago Center for Surgery of the Hand and Reconstructive Microsurgery and performed an externship in Cosmetic Surgery in Newport Beach, California.
Since starting Lake County Plastic Surgery in 2000, Dr. Tijunelis has been performing the full spectrum of cosmetic surgery, plastic and reconstructive surgery, addressing clinical problems related to aesthetic rejuvenation and complex reconstruction.
Dr. Tijunelis is on staff as a doctor of plastic and reconstruction including hand and microvascular surgery at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, IL. (a level 1 trauma center in Lake County), Vista East Medical Center in Waukegan, IL. and at Aurora Medical Center in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
